Quantum Mechanics
Quantum Mechanics is one of the two branches of mechanical physics the other being Classical Mechanics, which has existed since the time of the ancient Romans and Greeks. It is generally accepted that Quantum Mechanics was founded by Max Karl Ernst Ludwig Planck when he established quantum theory in the early 20th century. Quantum Mechanics is the school of physics studying the very small in contrast to Einstein's Relativity, which is used to explain the largest things in the universe. Although Planck is considered the originator of Quantum Theory, it was expounded upon throughout the 20th century and was ultimately a group effort unlike Relativity, which Einstein was solely responsible for. Through out this section we will explore some of the fundamental principles of Quantum Mechanics including Quantum Numbers and the all important Uncertainty principle.
